Beginners Hockey
What is hockey?
-
Field hockey is one of the most popular and widely played sports in the world
-
Similar to football, it's an 11-a-side team sport where the aim is to score in the opposition goal
-
Matches are 70mins, with four quarters
-
Players pass a small hard ball around using a hooked stick
-
It's predominantly played on the ground, though there are aerial elements to it - depending on the level
